James Bult
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Jim Bult founded MBI in 1980 with 1 truck and himself as the driver. With a dedication to constant improvements in equipment specification and customer service Mr. Bult has grown the Company to its current size of over 1100 trucks. Mr. Bult has served as CEO throughout the history of MBI and still remains involved in daily operations.

Tony Schmidt began his career in the transportation industry over 30 years ago in the maintenance side of the business. He joined MBI in 1995 when the company had only 37 trucks. Mr. Schmidt became General Manager in 1998 and was named President of MBI in 2007. He also serves on the board of the Illinois Trucking Association.

Chief Financial Officer
Jim Murphy joined MBI in August 2012 as Chief Financial Officer after spending more than 17 years in the transportation industry in various accounting and financial roles. Mr. Murphy was most recently an area controller for a national company.

Vice President, Marketing & Development
From 2001 to 2006, Mike McCallie owned and operated his own company, MTS, a long-haul waste company. Mr. McCallie joined MBI as part of the MBI’s acquisition of MTS in October 2006. Mr. McCallie holds an Engineering Degree, and a Masters in Business Administration. Mr. McCallie has more than 8 years experience in the solid-waste transportation industry.

Area Vice President, East
Shayne McCallie joined the Company in October 2006 as part of the MTS acquisition after founding and serving as President of MTS from 1998 to 2006. Mr. McCallie directs MBI’s operations in the Eastern half of the United States. Mr. McCallie has more than 11 years experience in the solid-waste transportation industry.

Area Vice President, West
Jim Lanenga joined MBI in September 2007 after 30 years in the solid-waste industry working for two of the world’s largest waste companies. Mr. Lanenga spent the last 10 years managing numerous transfer stations in one of the largest metropolitan areas of the United States. Mr. Lanenga directs MBI’s efforts in the Western half of the United States.

Corporate Safety Director
Sam Werkema joined MBI in July 2010 as Corporate Safety Director. Mr. Werkema has over 25 years in the solid-waste industry working in the operations and safety departments for several large waste companies.
Todd Martin (todd.martin@mrbults.com)
Area Director of Operations, East
Todd Martin entered the solid-waste industry in 1987 and served in various capacities with a large waste company including General Manager until he joined MTS in April 2005. Mr. Martin joined MBI as part of the MTS acquisition in October 2006, and in August 2007 was promoted to Director of Operations for the Eastern Area. Mr. Martin has over 20 years of solid-waste industry experience.

Director of Maintenance
David Huitsing came to MBI in June 2002 and joined the Management team in August 2005. He has strong background in metal fabrication and has served in the transportation industry for the past 15 years.
